NECO Past Questions & Answers (All Subjects)

NECO (National Examinations Council) past questions are essential for SSCE candidates. This guide covers what NECO tests, how to use past questions effectively, and where to practise them free.

What NECO tests

NECO runs the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for SS3 students across the same subjects WAEC offers. The grading scale (A1–F9) and the syllabus are almost identical, so most preparation transfers directly between the two.

How to use NECO past questions

  1. Pick a subject and download the most recent 5 years of past papers.
  2. Sit one paper under timed conditions, no peeking.
  3. Mark using the official marking scheme — note where you lost marks.
  4. Re-do failed questions a week later from memory.

NECO vs WAEC: practical differences

  • NECO essay marking favours clearly numbered points more than WAEC.
  • NECO objective papers sometimes have 5 options (A–E) instead of 4.
  • NECO results come out faster on average than WAEC.

Where else NECO past questions are found

Most candidates download NECO past questions and answers from Myschool (myschool.com.ng), Exambly, O3Schools, Mobile Academy, Tegy24, or random NECO PDF blogs. Eduqore runs the same NECO SSCE past questions — objective and theory — directly in your browser, with marking-scheme answers and timed practice. No PDF download, no install, works on a basic phone.

Frequently asked questions

Is NECO harder than WAEC?
NECO and WAEC test the same SS3 syllabus, but NECO's theory marking is slightly more strict on structure. Most students who pass WAEC pass NECO too if they revise the same way.
Are NECO past questions enough to pass?
Past questions plus a solid grasp of the syllabus is enough to get credit (C6 or better). For A1, also drill theory questions and practise diagrams.
Can I write NECO and WAEC in the same year?
Yes, and many students do. The exams run at different times, and universities accept either certificate for admission.
